Abstract

Objective To explore the clinical effect and safety of insulin pump treatment in gestational diabetes mellitus. Methods 160 cases with gestational diabetes mellitus were randomly divided into control group and observation group,80 patients for each group.Observation group was given continuous subcutaneous insulin injection by insulin pump and control group received multiple subcutaneous insulin injection.Blood glucose level, time of reaching target of glucose control, incidence of hypoglycemia and maternal and neonatal complications were compared between two groups. Results Blood glucose level greatly decreased after treatment in two groups(P0.01),but level of blood glucose control in observation group was superior to control group(P0.05).Time of reaching target of glucose control in observation group was less than that in control group(P0.05).Incidence of hypoglycemia in observation group was much lower than that in control group(5.0% vs 12.5%,P0.05).Incidence of maternal and neonatal complications in observation group was much lower than that in control group(P0.05).Conclusion Insulin pump treatment for gestational diabetes mellitus could acquire optimal glucose level rapidly and stably with high safety.
