The Relationship Between Circadian Rhythm Varlation of Blood Pressure and TCM Syndrome Pattern in Essential Hypertension of Old Age

Objective To study the relationship between circadian rhythm varlation of blood pressure and TCM syndrome pattern in old age essential hypertension. Methods One hundred and sixteen cases of old age essential hypertension were selected,their circadian rhythm varlation of blood pressure and TCM syndromes were determined. Results The daytime systolic blood pressure was increased in the pattern with hyperactivity of liver-fire syndrome,there was difference compared with qi and yin deficiency pattern (P 0.05). The incidence of blood pressure scattered as ladle type was high in the pattern of qi and yin deficiency,and has difference with other syndromes (P 0.01). Conclusions TCM syndrome pattern is related to circadian rhythm varlation of blood pressure in old age essential hypertension. We can infer objected organs damage and prognosis by TCM syndrome.
