Abstract

Howard Gardner's work around multiple intelligences has had a profound impact on thinking and practice in education-especially in the United States.The theory is an account of human cognition in its fullness.The in- telligences provideda new definition of human nature,cognitively speaking(Gardner 1999:44).Human beings are organisms who possess a basic set of intelligences and a unique blend of intelligences.This essay will discuss the ways to arouse and maintain English-learners'interest in the language in terms of multiple intelligences,especially the linguistic intelligence.
