Hu Huaichen and the Modern Literary Education in the Beginning of Republic of China

The poet Hu Huaichen of Southern Poetry,who was dismissed as Old School writersby new culture sent,has in fact made no small contribution to the new literature education.In the beginning of Rebublic of China,he teached the new literature in many colleges and universities of Shanghai,and more than 10 course notes was published.These writings on literature emphasize literature consciousness and stylistic awareness;with both strong ideas of history and cultural consciousness;and also proposed a basic plan on new literature construction.Therefore,the new literature class not only made the soil atmosphere for the new culture movement smoothly,the course itself is also an important scheme on modernization of Chinese literature.
