Abstract

A dominant bacteria was isolated from the liver, spleen, kidney of diseased Cyprinus carpio koi. The isolated strain was identified as Pseudomonas sp. in phenotypic characteristics and 16 S r DNA sequence determination. By artificial infection of normal ornamental carps, the isolated strain was found with pathogenic. Antibiotic sensitivity patterns of the bacteria were evaluated against 20 antibiotics. Results showed that the isolated strain was highly sensitive to 3 antibiotics including gentamycin, kanamycin, tobramycin, and was moderately sensitive to 3 antibiotics including norfloxacin, amikacin, ciprofloxacin, but was resistant to 14 other antibiotics.
