Abstract
With the development of high performance equipments and high-speed rail transit, damping materials have been widely used for noise control and vibration reduction. The fiber-reinforced composites were made by means of adding different kinds of fibers into the matrix such as damping compound and epoxy resin. In order to investigate dynamic mechanical behavior of the composites,DMA was used to characterize the damping properties and the modulus of the specimens.Damping mechanisms were also discussed.Experimental results show that the reinforcement effects of the organic fibers are better than that of glass fiber in the composites, and the PET fiber reinforced compo-sites show excellent damping properties.
