Abstract

Objective To investigate the drug resistance of Staphylococci to erythromycin and clindamycin and the prevalence of inducible clindamycin resistance of erythromycin-resistant Staphylococci in our hospital. Methods Kirby-Bauer method was performed to detect the resistance of erythromycin and clindamycin against Staphylococci, and cefoxitin disk diffusion method was applied to detecting methicillin-resistant staphylococci(MRS),and D-test was used to detect inducible clindamycin resistance of erythromycin-resistant Staphylococci. Results Among 152 strains of erythromycin-resistant and clindamycin-sensitive Staphylococci,85 strains(55.92%,)were D test positive, and their constituent ratio in inducible clindamycin-resistance of methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus(MRSA),methicillin sensitive staphylococcus aureus(MSSA),methicillin sensitive coagulase-positive staphylococci(MRCNS)and methicillin sensitivecoagulase-positive staphylococci(MSCNS)was 57.14%(8/14),76.47%(26/34),50.70%(36/71)and 45.45%(15/33)respectively.Conclusion The prevalence of inducible clindamycin resistance of Staphylococci is relatively high.D-test should be emphasized by clinical bacteriological laboratory so as to guide the rational use of antibiotics in the clinic.
