Abstract
Objective To evaluate the effect of three-dimensional (3D) digital subtraction angiography (DSA) in the treatment of intracranial aneurysm. Methods A comparison of 2D DSA and 3D DSA was made in 23 patients with aneurysms, pre- and post-operatively, in terms of the shape and the neck of the aneurysm, the feasibility of therapy and post-operative evaluation. Results Compared with 2D DSA, 3D DSA could more clearly depict the aneurysm shape and neck, and exactly show the feasibility of endovascular or microsurgical treatment, correctly judge the degree of embolization and clipping. Conclusion 3D DSA is of great value in the treatment and evaluation of intracranial aneurysm. It can provide valuable information for endovascular and microsurgical treatment that 2D DSA can not provide.
