Abstract

Objective To evaluate the Low Field MR1 features and the pathologic basis of intrahepatic biliary cystadenoma and cystadenocarcinoma. Methods seven cases of biliary cystadenoma and cystadenocarcinoma were collected. All cases were conformed by operation and pathology. Plain scan were performed in five cases. Plain scan and enhanced scan were performed in two cases. The Low Field MRI features of seven cases of biliary cystadenoma and cystadenocarcinoma were analyzed retrospectively and correlated with the pathologic findings. Results Six cases were biliary cystadenoma and one was canceration from the biliary cystadenoma. All of seven cases were multilocular fluid cystic mass and had mural nodules and/or papillary excrescences. Thickening of internal septa were shown in some cases and three genus imagess of WTI1 WTI2 were shown in two cases. Conclusions Low Field MRI scan reveal the some characteristic features of biliary cystadenoma and cystadenocarcinoma. But differentiation between biliary cystadenoma and cystadenocarcinoma is still difficult on Low Field MRI scan. The diagnoses with nature mostly depend on pathology.
