Abstract
A new method of automatic generation of truss structures is proposed.Under the condition that the nodes, external load and material properties are given, this method allows the truss geometrical structure to be generated automatically by applying the Delaunay triangulation. And the stability of truss geometrical structure was judged by the rank of equilibrium matrix, the full stress method is used to optimize the dimension of the geometric structure, obtaining truss structures that can meet engineering demands. The automatic generation and visualization of truss is allowed by using VC and MATLAB programming software together. The practical applications show the method herein has feasibility and validity when solving the problems as automatic generation of the truss structure.
