Abstract

Beijing City's Axis has been selected as a cultural heritage site in World Heritage Tentative List.The understanding of the heritage values of Beijing City's Axis reflects the development of recognition of the values of the Axis by the conservation movement of international cultural heritage.As a material testimony of Chinese traditional urban planning theory,Beijing City's Axis shows Chinese traditional values of order,aesthetics and the relationship between man and nature.Protecting the Axis is an important issue during the growth of Beijing.
