Lycium barbarum is one of the important restorative plants ,which has 500 cultivation history in Ningxia, it is called“red jewel”for its excellent quality,high productiveness and good benefits.It is about in 1960's that is introduced to Guyuan county ,its development is slow and fluctuant at larger before the new variety “Ningqi No.1”is cultivated and spread out in 1990's.Now its cultivation area reaches to 1 230 hm 2,economic production RMB 10 800 000,Guyuan is the biggest county of Lycium barbarum cultivation.In order to make a further step to strengthen Guyuang county at the aspect of Lycium barbarum production,it is necessary to sum up the status to provide large scale and intensive management with scientific foundaion.
