Efficacy of Drawing Vitreous Fluid Combining Phacoemulsification for the Treatment of Glaucoma Complicated with Cataract

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of drawing vitreous fluid combining phacoemulsification for treatment of glaucoma complicated with cataract.Methods 34 patients(36 eyes)with glaucoma complicated with cataract who were treated with drawing vitreous fluid combining phacoemulsification were reviewed by postoperative visual acuity,intraocular pressure,anterior chamber depth and complications.Patients were followed up for 10 to 29 months,an average of 17.5 months.Results After 1 week of surgery,visual acuity of all patients was improved in varying degrees,compared with the preoperative(P0.05).Compared with the preoperative,the postoperative intraocular pressure(14.67±4.12)mm Hg was reduced markedly(P0.05)from(21.48±6.85)mm Hg.Compared with the preoperative,the postoperative depth of central anterior chamber angle was increased by ultrasound biomicroscopy test(P0.05).After surgery,the width of anterior chamber angle was increased and open by gonioscopy.Conclusions Drawing vitreous fluid combining phacoemulsification is an effective therapy for glaucoma complicated with cataract.
