Abstract
The Strong Programme is put forward by Edinburgh School (SSK) to study social cause of knowledge with a metaphysical theory of sociology. Barry Barnes and David Bloor are proponents of School. They take their programme as the Relativist View of Knowledge, and are against rationalism in philosophy of science. How should we evaluate their relativist view of knowledge after dominant status of rationalism in twentieth century was challenged? I attempt to discuss this question through criticizing main points of SSK, and historically reflecting and defending relative theories in modern philosophy of science.
