Study on the River Characteristics for Estuary Reach of the Floodway of Ziya River

Basod on the field hydrologic and sediment data, the river resistance,scouring and silting behavior,flow\|sediment and tidal movment law in the estuary reach of floodway of the Ziya River has been comprehensively analyzed.Such as runoff amount declining,river channel shrinking,obstructing flood\|plain in flood discharging and tidal dynamic,these caused a large quantities of sediment back\|deposition in the river estuary reach and in front of the tidal barrier.It is a commonly important problem affecting flood control safety in those muddy estuaries on the shore of Bohai Bay. Author of this paper analyzed and studied flood carrying capacity of estuary reach,roughness of flood\|plain and depositing trend in the river channel.And a way has been presented to improve depositional state in estuary reach and increase flood carrying capacity of the river channel.
