Pursuing National Security: Regional Security-Building Perspective

Exploring the ways to get off security dilemma is an important research agenda for progressive international studies. This paper holds that international anarchy can be effectively organized and managed and become mature gradually, through consensuses and collective efforts, within a limited geographical area and states group; and the improvement and unification of international system and structure can help to put an end to the conditions and environment on which the security dilemma depends. Regional security means security for region as a whole and has the attributions of stability, integrity and predictability. Only by achieving regional security, can national security be thoroughly realized. Regional integration contains clear logics and great values for regional security. The development in Europe is just an example.
