A Research for the Origin of "Wenqi" Theory

Abstract

Different schools ot thought in the Chinese academic world have diverged greatly as to the origin of wenqi theory.yet,none of them has ever referred to the effect of the philosophy of Zhuangzi on the wenqitheory in their studies. This paper serves to carry out a thorought investigation into the origin of this theory and argues that Daoism has a much greater influence on the later development of wenqitheory than the Confucian school.
