Clinical Effect of Two Methods in Restoration of Residual Root and Crown of Maxillary Anterior Tooth

Objective To observe the clinical effect of restoration of residual crown and root with root canal pin plus resin cores and cast cores.Methods 61 cases with 69 residual root or crown were selected.28 cases 32 teeth were restored with root canal pin plus resin cores,and 32 cases 37 teeth were restored with cast cores.All the teeth were restored with porcelain fused to metal(PFM)crown finally.All patients were revisited after treatment.Results The follow-up showed that one case was with post fracture,2 cases were with root fracture in the group which restored with cast cores.All the other cases were well in function.Conclusions Root canal pin is easy to use for residual crown which has partial dental tissue.Cast core has adequate retention for residual crown which has little dental tissue.
