Abstract
With the increasingly stringent quality requirements of steel,and the success of ladle metallurgy,has made it not then the tundish as a simple container,but in the middle of the package and strive to further remove impurities,and to prevent re-contamination of liquid steel.Tundish metallurgical characteristics of a unique theory and research methods.As a continuous operation of the reactor,and the converter,the ladle furnace and reactor such as the concept of intermittent operation is different.Tundish basic physical phenomenon is the flow of molten steel,molten steel other metallurgical processes,including the removal of inclusions,slag,the homogenization temperature and composition,are the flow of liquid steel carried out.Therefore,the middle pack of the flow of molten steel in tundish metallurgy is the foundation.Chengde Iron and Steel Company in 2008,completed 2 unit 2 strand slab caster,tundish capacity of 45 tons,in order to improve the cleanliness of steel,producing high-quality products,bearing steel to the tundish flow control devices to experiment with the actual production site Optimize the design of the internal structure of the tundish,tundish in order to ensure the proportion of small dead zone to facilitate the removal of large inclusions,extended residence time of liquid steel to promote uniform temperature and composition to improve the slab quality.
