Feminism Development through American Feminist Literature

Abstract

Feminism was first emerged in France,later it spread to England and America,the intention of which was to seek the equality between men and women.However,with the promotion of society,it developed into a conviction of equality and ideology,and a feminist movement,and then it influenced much on the literature of western world.Therefore,this essay is to discuss the three different phases in its development: the woman's movements in seeking the political rights equal to men;the rising of feminism after the Second World War and the influence on feminism by feminist literature in the late twentieth century;and the criticism to feminism.
