Clinical analysis of CT-guided radiofrequency ablation for unresectable lung tumors

Abstract

Objective:To discuss the safety and efficacy of unresectable lung tumors treated with radiofrequency ablation(RFA).Methods:The retrospective study included 23 patients,in which 17 patients were primary lung cancer,6 patients were recurrence after the surgery resection,treated with CT-guided radiofrequency ablation under local anesthesia.Results:33 RFA were done in 23 patients.Operations were successfully completed.The mean time of follow-up was 18.3 months(13~30 months).The 3-,6-,and 12-month local control rates were 96.8,93.5,and 86.7%,respectively.One year Progression-free survival(PFS) was 73.9%.There were no severe complications associated with RFA.Conclusion:CT-guided percutaneous radiofrequency ablation is a safe and effective local treatment of lung tumors.
