Abstract

The Shi-He bridge in Xinyang city built in 1997 is a half-through reinforced concrete tied-arch bridge. In order to test and evaluate the loading character, the static and dynamic tests were performed in January,2004.In this paper, the testing content, the loading mode, the testing methods and the testing results of dead load were introduced. From the tests of the bridge appearance and comparison with the original design, the offset of the arch is found from south to north. The modal character and static loading test were also measured. The vibration frequency of test is identical to that of the original design and the global characters of the bridge are good. The static loading test, the bearing load of the steeve, deflection and strain of arch were also measured. The results of the tests demonstrate that the bridge can meet the demand of normal use and the loading capacity adds up to the design requirement.
