The Study on the Relative Factors of Post Stroke Depression

Abstract

Objective To explore the incidence and relative factors of Post Stroke Depression (PSD).Methods 156 patients with stroke were evaluated and investigated by personality questionnaire, Hamilton depression rating scales (HAMD) and neurologic deficit scale.Results The incidence rate of PSD was 39.7%. PSD had positively relation to neurologic deficits , activities, hypertension, diabetes and smoke or alcohol abuse .PSD had not relation to age, occupation, level of education and the location of focus.Conclusion PSD was a common complication of stroke .It was positively related to neurological deficits , activities of daily, hypertension, diabetes and smoke or alcohol abuse. The factors above were useful for PSD prevention.
