Abstract

Ionic potential is an important factor controlling occurrence and migration of elements in the solution. The ore-formings of most elements in strata are controlled by migration processes of fluids. In this process, elements present themselves as ions or complex ions, and ionic potential impacts the activities and the complexation forms of metal ions, and such determines the properties and migration ability of ion or complex ion.In this article, the author discussed the role of ionic potential in the mineralization of metal elements by elucidating the interrelations among ionic potential, elemental abundances, the number of giant deposits, ion absolute hardness, and ion absolute electronegativity
