On the Three Lateral Criteria Concerning Poetry Critique by Zhong Rong

Abstract
Apart from the three vertical criteria: Sao,Ya,Feng;Zhong Rong also made comment on poems and its authors in the light of lateral: Qi,Qing,Wen.He thought that there should be clear trenchant,clear sad,clear romantic characteristics in poems according to the Qi,Qing,Wen criteria.Moreover,the three criteria need to be in perfect harmony,with his view,Cao zhi's poems come up to these criteria,therefore,he made the highest evaluation on Cao Zhi's poems.
