Li Zhi's A Critique and Decipherment of Du Fu's Poetry as the first individual work by a Korean scholar for criticizing,deciphering and annotating Du Fu's poetry,has been reputed as Korean people's ABC book for learning Du Fu's poetry.Li Zhi,who conscientiously shouldered the task of instructing young students,when criticizing and deciphering Du Fu's poetry,attached importance to textually researching the different textual records,analyzing the structure of every poem and expounding the line patterning of Du Fu's poetic creation.Li Zhi's study of Du Fu's poetry has really different vision and perspective from Chinese scholars as he sees the poetry in a foreign eye.
