Abstract
The interior ballistic and the intermediate ballistic characteristics of artillery projectile are very important for fuze designing. In order to provide reference for fuze design and analysis, the interior ballistic performance of domestic standard artillery projectile is listed, based on this the interior ballistic characteristic analysis and the intermediate ballistic characteristic analysis has been carried on.The results showed that the muzzle pressure is about 1/4 of maximum chamber pressure, but the time corresponding maximum pressure is about 2/5 of the barrel time, the velocity of projectile corresponding maximum pressure also is about 2/5 of the projectile muzzle velocity. The projectile after-effect period length may estimates according to 20~46 times the size of caliber(an average of 33 times the size of caliber),may also estimates according to(87~150),the average is 119.However,this formula does not applicable to mortar and recoilless gun.The projectile after-effect period length is also concerned with the weapon muzzle attachment.Without considering the influence of the projectile muzzle attachments, the projectile aftereffect period length approximately is 0.9~10 ms.Using the experience formula in this article, from the muzzle velocity and the tube length(or caliber) can estimate the barrel time and the maximum acceleration. The estimated results can be used for fuze analysis and design.
