Abstract

The paper introduces a fitting method between water jet and PDC bit tool, that is, aid bit tool cut rock while water jet is directed from suitable location of bottom of bit tool. The test shows that in this way, water jet can enter the rock crack which the bit has made and impact the crack tip directly and produce pressure to extend the crack instantly, thus bit force has a substantial reduction.
