Research of Priority Control Unit for Pollution Prevention at Haihe River Basin in Hebei Province

Abstract

In the 11th Five-Year period,water quality of seven major river systems in Haihe River Basin in Hebei has been gradually improved,but still there are different degrees of pollution.In the 12th Five-Year period,it sould be through the only way of basin-wide zoned control that could improve the water quality in Haihe River Basin and reduce the water pollution control pressure.Based on the discharge and contamination status,administrative divisions and topography of Hebei,Haihe River Basin was divided into different control areas and control units.By trend analysis and comprehensive screening on emissions of each control area,and the major pollutant NH3-N and chemical oxygen demand(COD) concentration in the state-controlled sections of surface water,the Ziya River plain control area was chosen as the priority area and Shijiazhuang,Handan,Xingtai and Hengshui as the priority control units.The pollutant emissions in priority control unit were analyzed,and then targeted pollution prevention measures and recommendations were proposed.
