Abstract
Based on the theory of landscape ecology and the backing of the geographic information system(GIS),the landscape spatial pattern of Hefei City is analyzed by using such indexes as diversity, dominance, evenness, and fractal dimension. The results are as follows: the landscape overall diversity index is 0.969,the largest diversity index is 2.897,the landscape fragmentation index is 0.00632,and the fractal dimension is 1.2 more or less. The landscape throughout the region is comparatively complete without significant fragmentation, but the diversity index is somewhat low on the whole. The patch shape is quite complex, and the landscape ecosystem is comparatively unsteady. The adjusting measures are proposed in order to achieve the maximum ecologic functions of the urban landscape. This study provides a theoretic basis for formulating the land utilization and management plan of Hefei City.
