Abstract
[Objective]To understand the health literacy level of rural residents in Shanghai suburbs,evaluate the effect of current health education measures,provide the basis for making future health education policy.[Methods]104 rural residents were sampled from Changbang village of Jinshan district in 2008,and 219 rural residents were sampled in 2009.The status of health literacy of rural residents was investigated,and the intervention effect was evaluated.[Results]From 2008 to 2010,the awareness rate of health concept and basic knowledge increased from 20.19% to 33.78 %,the qualified rate of healthy lifestyle and behavior increased from 15.12% to 18.26%,the qualified rate of health skill literacy decreased from 19.23% to19.18%,and the total qualified rate of health literacy increased from 14.42% to 15.98%.Among 4 health literacy items that were low in 2008,3 items improved in 2010.[Conclusion]Compare with the national health literacy level in 2008,the health literacy level of rural residents from Changbang village was at a high level in 2008.Compare with the health literacy level in 2008,the health literacy level have improved in 2010,but the increased range was not large.The current health education measures have preliminary effect on improving the health literacy level of residents,but the effect is little.In order to improve the literacy level of residents greatly,it is necessary to strengthen the amelioration and innovation of current working mode.
