Influence of sodium ferulate on the damage of ischemia-reperfusion in rat’s limb

Abstract

Objective:To study the protection of sodium ferulate(SF) on rat’s limb ischemia-reperfusion injury.Methods:Using femoral artery clamped model,sixty-three rats were divided randomly into three groups:Ischemia group occluded the blood stream of femur for five hours,control group reperfused after the blood stream occluded for five hours and were given saline before reperfusion,experimental group experienced the same procedure as the control group but were given SF.The superoxide dismutase(SOD),malondialdehyde(MDA) in muscular tissue and creatine phosphokinase(CK),lactate dehydrogenase(LDH),glutamic-pyruvic transaminase(GPT)in serum were measured at reperfusion and examined under light and electronic microscope.Results:Increasing of MDA,LDH,CK,GPT and decreasing of SOD were more obvious in the control group as compared with the experimental group (P0.05).Conclusion:SF can reduce the oxygen free radicals level,relieve the limb ischemia-reperfusion injury.
