Abstract
The mechanism of treating emulsifying wastewater by electrolysis was studied, and the treatment effect affected by different distances between anode and cathode, different anode stuffs, different electrolyte compositions and different anode current densities was investigated by experiment. The optimum technological parameters in treating the standard emulsifying wastewater under experimental conditions include the following: the electrode stuffs being Fe-Fe, the distance between anode and cathode being 11 mm,w(NaCl)=0.1% in the electrolyte, the anode current density 100 A/m 2, and the energy consumption 5.5 kW·h per cubic metre of wastewater. The COD Cr removal rate of the wastewater was 94%.
