Abstract

Using pot-culture experiments simulating soil drought status, this paper determined the aboveground plant height, quality and the content of chlorophyll, proline and MDA by spraying different concentrations of chitosan solution that treated wheat seedling. It was found that the chitosan could promote the growth and the drought resistance of wheat seedling. The chitosan played a certain role in helping prevent dehydration, enhanced osmotic adjustment ability, maintained the photosynthetic rate of plants and eliminated the harmful substances in plants. The most appropriate concentration of chitosan was 0. 40%. Compared with distilled water control, the content of chlorophyll and proline increased by more than 11. 1% and 34. 5%,MDA content decreased more than 44%.
