The value of magnetic resonance urography in the diognosis of upper urinary tract obstruction

Abstract

Objective:To evaluate the diagnostic efficacy of magnetic resonance urography(MRU) in patients with upper urinary tract obstruction.Method:Fifty-two patients with upper urinary tract obstruction were subjected to MRU.Result:The sites of urinary tract obstruction were distinctly shown in 52 of 52. Two patients were misdiagnosed by MRU before operation.Conclusion:MRU is noninvasive and is free from ionzing radiation or iodinated contrast medium. It had more supper diagnostic efficacy than ultrasound B, IVU and retrography.
