Abstract

A dynamic calculation model of cooling load for marine air-conditioning systems was developed by using the method of thermal response factor,in which the effects of solar radiation and ship's speed on the cooling load were entirely investigated. The cooling load of deck habitat chamber located at a ship on ocean route were calculated and analyzed in a typical working condition by the dynamic and steady-state algorithm. The calculated results show that the amount of heat transfer through the wall and window, the heat discharged by occupants and lightings, fresh air cooling load and the overall cooling load calculated by dynamic algorithm only account for 45.4%,35.2%,40.2%,39.7%and 40.6%that of calculated by steady-state algorithm, respectively. The real-time variations of cooling load of marine air-conditioning system were calculated by dynamic algorithm.
