Economic Level and Village Elite: An Analysis on Rural Public Product Supply in the Framework of "Four Models with Two Dimensions" :Based on a Case Study of 4 Villages in Jiangsu Province

The disequilibrium of China's rural village results in the multifarious status in the supply of public products.Therefore,the author believes that only with modeling study can the essence and mechanism of rural public product supply be better grasped.From the two dimensions of rural economic level and village elite,the rural public product supply can be divided into four models.We chose the four villages in Jiangsu Province for empirical survey and the results show that the supply of public goods is largely determined by the village economy,and that the village power elites count in the rural public goods supply.Public product supply mechanism is formed through the top-down acceptance of relevant policies and systems and the integration of such acceptance with informal or implicit rules.Spontaneous supply is an effective supplement to government supplies and market supplies.
