Abstract
To guide the design and evaluation of air-entrained concrete,the advanced air void analyzer was used to study effects of water-cement ratio on air void parameters of hardened concrete.The results show that water-cement ratio makes significant effects on spacing factor,mean air void diameter,specific air void area,and air void size distribution of hardened concrete.As the water-cement ratio increases,spacing factor of hardened concrete increases and the characteristics of air void become worse even though there are the same air contents of freshly mixed concrete,which will influence the frost resistance of concrete.So it is proposed that the effects of water-cement ratio on air void parameters of hardened concrete should be paid more attention when the air content and spacing factor of air-entrained concrete are specified.
