Abstract
Objective:To investigate the effects of atorvastatin on serum lipid metabolic index, high sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP) and interleukin(IL)-6 in rabbits with hyperlipidemia after acute myocardial infarction(AMI).Methods:Hyperlipidemia rabbits were randomly divided into model AMI group, sham AMI group,10 mg/(kg·d) atorvastatin group, and 5 mg/(kg·d) atorvastatin group,10 in each.Another 7 hyperlipidemia rats served as normal control.Atorvastatin was given in succession for 14 days.AMI was induced in an hour after final administration of atorvastatin and blood lipids, serum hs-CRP and IL-6 contents were determined in 24 hours after AMI onset. Results:The contents of total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),and low density lipoprotein-cholesterol(LDL-C) as well as hs-CRP and IL-6 significantly increased in the model AMI group(P0.01),while high density lipoprotein-cholesterol(HDL-C) decreased(P0.01).Compared with the model AMI group,TC,TG and LDL-C as well as hs-CRP and IL-6 decreased(P0.01)but HDL-C increased(P0.05)in both atorvastatin groups;the effect of higher dose atorvastatin seemed better. Conclusion:Preconditioning with atorvastatin can improve the disturbed lipid metabolism and reduce the contents of inflammatory factors in rabbits
