Western Marxism and the Innovation of Marxist Philosophy in China

Western Marxists keep a close track of the new trends and problems in the advanced capitalist countries in the 20th century and pay close attention to questions different from those proposed in dialectical materialism and historical materialism.Their attempts carry a strong sense of humanism.The concerns of social reality,emphasis on social criticism,and belief in Marxism by Western Marxists have paved the way for the innovation of Marxism in China.Still,the innovation must be based on further researches of the classical works by Marx and Engels for a deeper understanding of the rich philosophical ideas,on a firm belief in Marxism and on the construction of a free academic environment so that the diversity and individuality of Marxism in China will be well promoted.
