Abstract
Na-montmorillonite(Na-MMT) was modified to prepare organic montmorillonite(OMMT) by using sodium dodecyl sulfonate(SDS) as the intercalation agent. The synthesis conditions such as reaction temperature,pH,the ratio of solid to liquid and dosage of modifier were studied by orthogonal experiments. The prepared OMMT was characterized by XRD,FT-IR and TGA.It was shown that SDS had inserted into OMMT′s layers with the spacing increase of layers from 1.5691 nm to 3.5766 nm.Its dispersivity in different organic solvents is fine.
