Abstract

Heavy oil reservoirs were developed by steam soak and its recovery percent was low.To improve the thermal recovery in the heavy oil reservoirs, the auxiliary techniques of thermal recovery in the mid-deep heavy oil reservoirs were studied by using steam flooding in 2008.On the basis of different numerical simulation modes of extra-heavy oil reservoirs,a pilot test of extra-heavy oil steam flooding was conducted on 4 well groups. The pilot test result shows that steam flooding is beneficial for improving heavy oil reservoir steam sweep efficiency and displacement efficiency, and recovery percent at heavy oil recovery stage, increasing the level of heat utilization and improving its performance.
