Abstract
Agricultural Total factor productivity(TFP) was calculated and decomposed by non-parametric DEA Malmquist index method based on the provincial panel data from 1985 to 2007.On this basis, this paper has tested the convergence hypothesis of the agricultural TFP.The calculation results show that the agricultural TFP had been increasing from 1985 to 2007 primarily due to technical progress. The convergence analysis suggested that the unconditional β convergence and the conditional β convergence coexist in agricultural TFP.
