Change of Contents of Heavy Metals and Contamination in Vegetables from the Vegetable Bases in Suburbs of Chongqing

By monitoring the content of heavy metals in vegetable samples from the vegetable bases of Chongqing, and by comparing it with that in 1980's, the result shows that lead contamination still exists, cadmium contamination occurs in a very small numbers of vegetable samples, Mercury and Arsonic contamination is not found in any of the vegetable samples. In addition, the contaminated vegetable types are mainly leaf vegetables.
