Preliminary Application of Compound Straight Wire Appliance for Correcting Anterior Cross-bite

Abstract

In order to explore the effect of the compound straight wire appliance on the correction of anterior cross-bite,molar buccal tubes and bicuspid brackets were fixed in the buccal side of occlusal pad.Occlusal pad was integrated with the straight wire appliance.The results showed that it was much easier to correct anterior cross-bite using the compound straight wire appliance.The average correction time was 3.4 months.The compound straight wire appliance was superior to the occlusal pad removable appliance.Therefore,it is an effective way to treat anterior cross-bite.
