Abstract

Objective To explore the significance of serum levels of aspartic acid amino transferase( AST) and isozyme( m- AST),m- AST / AST ratio, alanine aminotransferase( ALT),gamma- glutamyltransferase( GGT),urea nitrogen( BUN),creatinine( Cr) and uric acid( UA) in diagnosis of patients with alcoholic fatty liver( AFLD). Methods Two hundred and ninety one patients with AFLD,189 patients with non- alcoholic fatty liver( NAFLD) and 256 healthy controls were examined with above mentioned biochemical parameters, and their results were analyzed. Results Serum levels of ALT,AST,m- AST,m- AST / AST,GGT and UA in patients of AFLD group and NAFLD group were obviously higher than those of healthy controls( P 0. 01),and serum levels of ALT and AST in AFLD group and NAFLD group had no obvious difference( P 0. 05),but m- AST,m- AST / AST,GGT,TBIL,BUN,SCR and UA in AFLD group were obviously higher than those of NAFLD group( P 0. 01). Conclusion The determination of serum m- AST,m- AST / AST,GGT,TBIL,BUN,SCR and UA is helpful in evaluation of liver damage in patients with AFLD,their joint examination is helpful in diagnosis and differential diagnosis of AFLD.
