Abstract
Objective To understand the mastery of knowledge on cancer prevention and control among community medical professionals in Shandong province,so as to provide a basis for strengthening the education on cancer prevention and control in future.Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted among 180 medical professionals from three community health centers in Shandong province on the knowledge of cancer prevention and control.Results For medical professionals who had higher academic qualifications and titles,and who were younger,they usually had higher scores and better mastery of knowledge on cancer prevention and control.Nurses had a lower average score than clinicians and care physicians in terms of gender,education,professional title and age.Conclusions Awareness of cancer prevention and control is lack among community medical professionals,especially among nurses.Health education and training should be strengthened among community medical professionals so as to improve community service,popularize the knowledge of cancer prevention and control,and improve public awareness of cancer prevention and control.
