Abstract

Objective To discuss the role of Nitric Oxide(NO) in the process of the hepatic fibrosis. Method Hepatic fibrosis models in rats were replicated by injecting TAA in peritoneal cavity. Rats were divided into the control group, TAA group and (TAA+L-NAME) group. Rats in TAA group and (TAA+L-NAME) group were injected TAA (100mg/kg ip) and TAA+L-NAME(200mg/kg ip) respectively. The content of ALT, LDH, plasmic endotoxin(LPS) and the content of NO in plasma and hepatic tissue were observed, also the changes of hepatic histology in HE and V·G stain way after 13 weeks. Results The content of ALT, LDH, LPS, hydroxyproline and NO in plasma and hepatic tissue in TAA group were obviously higher than those in the control group (P0.05), and those indexes in (TAA+L-NAME) group were higher than those in TAA group. HE and V·G stain show that the extent of hepatic fibrosis and hepatic injury were more serious in (TAA+L-NAME) group than that in TAA group. Conclusion NO plays a protective role in the process of hepatic fibrosis.
