The Causes for the Urban Development in the Tang Dynasty

The Tang Dynasty is an important focus for the study of ancient Chinese history,but the study of urban history has been a new and integrated discipline in the past twenty years.The study of the cities in the Tang Dynasty has been a popular topic in the past few years,but there are few papers on the causes of the urban development in the Tang dynasty.Through a study of this history,the paper concludes that the development of productivity and commodity economy,the transfers of social productivity,the deconstruction of the rural social structure,the interaction between industry and business and the social life of the urban citizens are the five key factors for the urban development in this period,which should have great significance to the study of urban development in China.
