Abstract
Aimed at investigating modulation schemes suitable for indoor visible light wireless communication, this paper proposes a new modulation schemes-differential overlapping pulse-position modulation(DOPPM),combined with the modulation structures of the typical modulation schemes OOK,M-PPM,DPPM and OPPM and based on the characteristic of the communication channel and the photo-electricity receiver and presents a comparison between the lighting power and the information transmitting rate. The results show that, with greater lighting power,DOPPM affords an obviously higher information transmitting rate than other modulation schemes.DOPPM proves more suitable for indoor visible light wireless communication. The study offers theoretical support for the choice of more practical modulation schemes.
